Kia is one of the worlds leading electric car manufacturers, and they have launched an online ‘electrification hub’ in association with the global multimedia brand, TIME.
We were tasked with creating an animation which looks at electrification from a global perspective, showing the everyday impact on people’s lives, the types of electric vehicle technology available, range and charging infrastructure and future initiatives and innovations. To do this we liaised with the clients on what would best serve their needs and budget, it was decided a 3D animation would be best to visually represent electrification globally.
We knew we had to demonstrate a lot of information in a short amount of time, therefore we consulted with the client on the script to get the main points across in an informative and understandable way. The animation was built upon some key 3D scenes, and these were then merged with some simpler 2D scenes designed in an in-keeping style, where we used muted tones and simple texturing and lighting.
Kia's electrification hub has been visited by many people around the world, and it is designed to both inform and entertain readers, providing them with engaging insights and valuable information. The aim is to help members of the public develop a greater understanding of the key issues and give them the tools to embrace a sustainable, electrified lifestyle, and this video has gone some way in demonstrating this.
