Freshly Squeezed May

Here it is, the first instalment of our new monthly blog post ‘Freshly Squeezed’. It’s a chance for us to give you all an update on what we’ve been up to, anything inspiring we’ve seen, as well as a general catch up.

The Adams

It’s been an exciting few weeks here at SQZD. With our ever growing client base, we’re continuing to invest in our in-house team.

Welcoming Adam Roche into our team as Senior Motion Designer, previously at MPC, Adam has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all things motion graphics and we are thrilled to have him onboard.

In other Adam news – our in-house designer Adam Bawn has been promoted to Senior Motion Designer. Adam has been with SQZD. since January 2020 and has quickly impressed the team with his work.

Beer Friday

The pubs and restaurants are officially open, wooo! We took full advantage of this and had our first in-person Beer Friday since lockdown began. It was great to have the team all together.

Piccadilly Circus

With our studio based in central London we couldn’t ignore the latest development in tube signage.

The Internet has understandably so lost their mind over the David Hockney redesign for Piccadilly Circus in Sadiq Khan’s #LetsDoLondon movement trying to raise awareness for London’s cultural reawakening.

With very conflicting opinions, from genius to genuine embarrassment.

Whether you like the design or not, it’s got people talking. Potentially much more so than a lovely illustration would have done.

“Nothing grabs attention like divisive design – especially one with a big name attached. Plus, this artwork has enough weird features to really get people talking, about the art itself and about London’s cultural awakening.” Creative Bloq explains it well, the aim of the project was to get people talking about the culture of London and it has achieved just that.

New Website Launch

Our website is currently in the process of having a face lift so we thought it would be great for all of us to have one too. With a visit from Ben Mellish Photography the team had new headshots taken ready for the new website. As you can see we thoroughly enjoyed the vanity session.

That’s all we’ve got time for I’m afraid, keep an eye out for when we give June a squeeze.
